Sender Policy Framework (SPF)
Emails sent from Springboard to candidates and your internal staff are increasingly being scrutinised and filtered to protect against spammers.
To ensure that emails sent from Springboard are not mistakenly identified as spam, we recommend that a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record is added to DNS.
An SPF record is a type of Domain Name Service (DNS) TXT record that identifies which mail servers are permitted to send email on behalf of your domain. The purpose of an SPF record is to detect and prevent spammers from sending messages with forged From addresses on your domain.
An SPF record can be added to your DNS by your IT department. Some Springboard customers have already added this record to their servers, and if this has already been done, no further action is required.
We recommend use of the SPF TXT record specifically.
If you do not have any SPF record configured yet, the following command is recommended to be added as the data section to a TXT type record:
v=spf1 a:mail.springboard.com.au mx ~all
If you already have SPF records set up in the company, the mechanism can be changed provided that mail.springboard.com.au will be allowed. Other mechanisms that will accept this are: Pass (+), SoftFail (~) and Neutral (?).
For example, if your FROM domain was called careers.abc.com.au, your record should look like this:
Name | Class | Type | Data |
careers.abc.com.au | IN | TXT |
v=spf1 a:mail.springboard.com.au mx ~all |
