Candidate Match Scores and Insights with Scout AI - find the Best-fit candidates
Since the Q1 2026 release, ScoutAI has supported two powerful use cases:
- Job ad content generation - Helping recruiters create high-quality, engaging job advertisements in a fraction of the time.
- Interview reference questions - Generating tailored interview and reference check questions based on the requirements of the role.
With the Q2 2026 release, ScoutAI takes another significant step forward by introducing AI-powered Candidate Match Scores and Insights.
This new capability enables recruiters to assess candidate suitability against a job's position description, job advertisement, or custom skills matrix using the resume submitted with the application. ScoutAI analyses candidate experience, skills, qualifications, and achievements against the job requirements to generate a candidate match score and a concise candidate summary.
Recruiters can further tailor the assessment by reviewing AI-generated skills, adjusting skill weightings, and adding role-specific criteria to ensure the evaluation aligns with their hiring priorities.
By providing instant candidate insights and objective fit scores, ScoutAI helps recruiters reduce manual screening effort, identify high-potential candidates faster, and make more informed recruitment decisions.
What's New?
Build a Skills Matrix
- Generate a job-specific skills matrix using the job title, advertisement, and position description.
- Review and refine AI-generated skills before use.
- Add, edit, remove, and prioritise skills using adjustable weightings.
Automated Candidate Match Scoring
- Enable AI-powered scoring to assess candidates against the job's skills matrix automatically.
- Candidates receive a match score out of 100 based on their resume and the weighted job requirements.
- Scores are stored against the candidate record for easy comparison.
AI Candidate Summaries
- Automatically generate concise candidate summaries highlighting relevant experience, skills, and suitability for the role.
- Summaries are available directly within the candidate record, helping recruiters review applications faster.
Insights and Score Visibility
- Candidate Match Scores can be displayed as a column on the candidate grid, allowing recruiters to identify strong-fit candidates and prioritise their review quickly.
- The candidate summary and insights can also be viewed from the review mode.
AI-assisted resume detection
- If enabled on a user, this feature can help detect if the candidate's resume has been created via AI.
Ability to rescore and reparse the candidate’s resume
If, for any reason, the skills matrix source job ad, job details, or the attached position description document is changed, resulting in updating skills matrix, the users can generate a new skills matrix and reparse the existing and new candidates against the latest criteria. This is enabled by a user role.
Benefits
- Reduce manual resume screening time.
- Improve consistency in candidate evaluation.
- Quickly identify high-potential candidates.
- Gain AI-generated insights to support recruitment decisions.
This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough of how to use ScoutAI Candidate Insights within Springboard so you can start utilising and realising value immediately.
Enablement
This feature can be enabled on request through the Application Support Team or your Account Manager.
How this works
Although ScoutAI can be invoked from anywhere within Springboard, relevant context, such as job details, existing job ad content, and candidate information, is automatically passed when ScoutAI is launched from any of the job screens. This context shapes and enhances the subsequent user experience.
Generate skills matrix
The Candidate Insights and scoring process begins by generating a skills matrix for the job. Let us learn how to generate a skills matrix for a job in this section.
- Log in to Springboard.
- Go to the job on which you want to generate a skills matrix and assess candidates.
- Click on the ScoutAI icon.
- The ScoutAI panel will open. Select the Candidate Insights tile on the panel.
- On the next screen, select the source to be used for skills extraction. Where both the job advertisement and position description are available for the job, either source can be selected. If only one source is available, ScoutAI will automatically use it for the skills extraction.
-
Skill extraction configuration: The user can choose between automation extraction or manual/custom extraction. By default, automatic extraction is chosen, which means that ScoutAI will extract the skills (technical and soft skills), experience, qualifications, certifications, and apply the weightages.
If custom extraction is chosen, then the user will build the matrix from scratch.
- Click on the Extract Skills button.
- ScoutAI analyses the content from the source, i.e., position description document/ job advertisement and extracts the job details, skills, qualifications, and certifications as shown below.
-
Job details are also extracted from the requisition screen. ScoutAI normalises the job title and industry and provides a list of suggestions.
The extracted config can be edited by clicking on the Modify/Adjust button.
- The scoring weights can be changed using the slider scale.
- Similarly, other fields and criteria can be changed, for example:
- Job title suggestions can be added or removed
- Skills can be made essential, important, preferred, or desired by moving the sliders
- Or Quals/Certs can be added or marked as Required/ Desired.
- Once the user is happy with the edits, they can click on the Done adjusting button.
- Click on Use this button to save the skills matrix.
- Star rating: Rate the skills matrix generated.
- Enable Automatic Candidate Scoring: When this check box is enabled, candidate resumes will be automatically scored based on how well they match the skills matrix. Higher-weighted skills will have more impact on the overall score.
-
Candidate Overview: This section shows
- Total candidates
- ScoutAI scored
- Pending scored
- The saved skills matrix against a job can be viewed by clicking on the Skills Matrix button on the Requisition Details page.
Candidate Insights and Summary
The Skills Matrix is saved against the job and acts as the benchmark for candidate assessment. Any candidate entering the job will be automatically analysed against the generated Skills Matrix, with candidate summaries and insights produced based on their alignment with the defined criteria.
- The candidate score is displayed under the ScoutAI score column.
- It is displayed as the Second column on the candidates’ job grid.
- Clicking on the score would display the detailed analysis of the candidate.
- ScoutAI generates the score, summary, score breakdown, quick highlights including strengths ad concerns, overall assessment, skills, experience, education and qualifications, key achievements, and red flags.
- Clicking on the View details would display the score composition.
- The ScoutAI insights are also available via Candidate Review mode from
- Candidate Initials Avatar.
- The candidate insights are available under ScoutAI tab, which is displayed as the second tab.
- Candidate insights summary is available under HMF portal too.

Affinix | Springboard Open API – Version 2
We are excited to announce a major update to the Affinix | Springboard Open API suite, marking the release of API Version 2. Building on the foundation established in Release 7.41, this update significantly expands the breadth and security of our integration capabilities, enabling deeper, more automated, and more secure connections between Springboard and your external systems.
API Version 2 introduces new inbound and outbound services, stronger authentication standards, and important refinements to existing endpoints — giving clients and integration partners the tools they need to build robust, production-grade integrations with confidence.
Key highlights
- OAuth2 authentication for inbound and outbound API calls
- New Create / Update Requisition endpoint (POST)
- New Update Requisition Status endpoint (POST)
- New Requisition Status Update webhook (outbound)
- New Get Application Questions endpoint (GET)
- Job List filtering by Job Reference
1. Upgraded security – OAuth2 authentication
API Version 2 replaces Basic authentication with the industry-standard OAuth2 client credentials flow for all inbound API calls. This provides a significantly more secure and scalable authentication model for clients integrating with Springboard.
For outbound webhook calls — where Springboard notifies your external systems of events — both OAuth2 and Basic authentication are now supported, giving clients flexibility in how they secure their receiving endpoints. The authentication method is configured per webhook registration.
Please contact your Account Manager or Application Support team to obtain your client credentials and begin onboarding to the new authentication model.
2. Create and update requisitions via API (POST)
External systems can now create and update job requisitions in Springboard directly via API, enabling end-to-end automation of the requisition lifecycle from your HRIS or workforce management platform.
Capabilities include:
- Create a new requisition with all standard and custom fields.
- Update an existing requisition by ID or reference code — only the fields provided are updated; all other details remain unchanged.
- Attach documents to a requisition.
- Resolve users by email address — no need to know the internal Springboard user ID.
- Support for custom properties by ID or label
Note: When updating a requisition, the requisition status should be managed via the dedicated Update Requisition Status endpoint described below, rather than included in the update payload.
3. Update requisition status via API (POST)
A dedicated endpoint is now available to update the status of an existing requisition. This allows external systems to drive requisition workflow progression — for example, moving a requisition from Draft to Approved or Closed — without requiring a user to log in to Springboard.
The request supports:
- Identifying the requisition by ID or reference code
- Setting the new requisition status
- Optionally attaching a note of up to 4,000 characters to record the reason for the change
- Controlling whether the status change triggers an outbound webhook notification back to the calling system.
4. Requisition status update webhook (outbound)
Springboard can now notify your external systems in real time whenever a requisition status changes. This new outbound webhook complements the existing application-based webhooks and means your integrated platforms no longer need to poll Springboard to detect requisition changes.
Each notification includes:
- Requisition ID and job reference
- New and prior status values
- Date and time of the change
This webhook supports both OAuth2 and Basic authentication for the receiving endpoint. Webhook registration is managed by your Account Manager or Application Support team.
5. Get application questions (GET)
A new GET endpoint allows external systems to retrieve all application questions configured for a given job advertisement, including valid dropdown values. This enables calling systems to dynamically render the correct application form fields before submitting a Create Application request, ensuring applications are correctly structured for the target job.
This endpoint uses the same authentication and access model as all other Open API services.
6. Job List filtering by job reference
The existing Job List (GET) endpoint now supports filtering by job reference, in addition to the status-based filters available previously. Calling systems can provide a job reference to retrieve details for that specific requisition, without needing to know the internal Springboard requisition ID.
Enablement
Access to the Open API suite requires setup and incur hosting fees. Full API documentation and endpoint specifications are available via the Springboard developer portal. Please contact your Account Manager or Application Support team to discuss onboarding, obtain credentials, or register webhooks.
Enhanced Hierarchy Selection Experience
We have replaced the existing Oracle-based Hierarchy Selection pop-up with a new, modern React-based component designed to improve usability, performance, and consistency across the platform.
What's new?
The new hierarchy selector is closely modelled on the Department selector available in the backend Job Search experience and introduces a significantly improved way to navigate and select organisational structures.
Key enhancements include:
- Tree-based navigation: Users can now navigate parent-child relationships seamlessly within a single expandable tree view, eliminating the need for multiple screen loads.
- Global search capability: The entire hierarchy can now be searched, not just top-level nodes, making it faster to locate relevant values.
- Highlighted results: Matching search terms are visually highlighted within the hierarchy tree for easier identification.
Where is it available?
The new React-based selector will be progressively deployed across the platform, starting with:
- Create Requisition
- Requisition Details
- RTH (Request to Hire)
Security and Integration
To ensure secure and controlled access:
- API calls retrieving hierarchy data are secured via logged-in session IDs.
- The React component is protected using an encryption key handshake mechanism.
Benefits
- Faster and more intuitive hierarchy selection
- Improved search accuracy and visibility
- Consistent user experience across modules
- Enhanced security and modern architecture alignment
Enablement
This feature can be enabled on request through the Application Support Team or your Account Manager
Enhanced Candidate Experience with SEEK Selection Signals Integration
Springboard is a platinum SEEK partner, and as part of this partnership, we will be releasing partnership features with each Springboard release. With this release, we have enabled Seek Selection Signals, which is a solution that SEEK has implemented with Springboard to capture data from the recruitment process to improve the matching quality for candidates and our mutual clients.
This feature enables our mutual customers to opt-in/out of sending candidate disposition data to Seek, which Seek will use to enable different capabilities on their end.
Enablement
This feature is not enabled by default. Once a client confirms they are happy for PeopleScout to send their candidate disposition data to SEEK we can enable it via the support centre.
Enhanced Hiring Manager Email Validation
To improve security and data integrity, the system now validates Hiring Manager email addresses configured on job requisitions. Private email domains such as Gmail, Hotmail, iCloud, and other non-approved addresses can no longer be used when configuring Hiring Managers or raising appointment requests. This ensures that only authorised organisational email addresses are used, supporting agency security requirements and preventing the creation of invalid user profiles.
Sunsetting Sovren Integration
As part of our ongoing platform evolution, we have retired the Sovren integration previously used for resume parsing, candidate suitability scoring, and resume mining capabilities. These functions are being transitioned to newer technologies and AI-powered services that provide enhanced flexibility, improved candidate insights, and a more modern recruitment experience. We are also actively evaluating potential integration with a new partner to further enhance these capabilities in future releases.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please contact your Account Manager or our Application Support team.
