This document outlines Springboard release version 7.29 scheduled for release in November 2022.
Version 7.29 introduces the following new features:
- No Registration Apply! – a streamlined apply process for candidates
- New partnership with Criteria Corp (Revelian)
- Improvements to sending SMS and Invite to Apply
- Improvements to Onboarding Portal
- New Look for Springboard continues to refine
This release also covers bug fixes and other small improvements which are outlined in these notes.
Quick apply : apply without registration process
Minimising complexity and friction for candidates to submit an application can lead to increased submissions to your jobs.
With this release, Springboard introduces a significant simplification in the apply process for clients utilising the new application form framework.
The need to first register or login to the careers site in order to apply to a position can optionally be removed, allowing candidates to simply complete the basic application form quickly and easily.
This has been accomplished whilst ensuring the candidate can be invited to login later should they wish to book into an interview and ensure candidate’s privacy is maintained.
Traditional path to apply
Traditionally, candidates applying for a job follow the below process flow:
Candidates must register an account or login with their existing account prior to submitting their application.
Candidates new to your careers site need not register to apply
When the new apply process is enabled, candidates who have not previously applied with you before (based on email address) can submit an application without needing to register or login.
Candidates first click on the ‘Apply’ button.
The application form is immediately presented, and candidates simply click Submit to apply.
Previously existing candidates confirmed their identity via an email code
When the new apply process is enabled, candidates who have previously applied with you (or have an existing account) can also submit an application without needing to register or login.
These candidates will be asked to verify they are the rightful owner of this email address by receiving a two-factor authentication code sent to their email inbox and entering it before applying.
Candidates complete the application form in the same way as new candidates. Springboard identifies that the email address being used has been used previously and asks the candidates to Continue instead of immediately submit.
An email is automatically sent to the candidate’s inbox with a code. This code will expire within a few hours.
The candidate enters the code to successfully submit their application.
Enabling No Registration Apply
This feature is only available to clients using the newer application form framework.
Go to Administration -> Forms & Front-end Admin. Select ‘Edit’ for the application form that you wish to enable this feature for.
Go to the 3-dots and select Form Settings.
Expand the Apply Settings section and check “Permit candidate to apply without login”.
Save the form.
All applications made to jobs using that application form will not require a registration / login.
Use for Expression of Interest
You can use this feature to create a basic application form that does not require registration, create an “Expression of Interest” job and then add a link directly to the Apply URL to your careers site.
Switching to the newer application form framework
Talk to your account manager about accessing the newer application form framework in Springboard. Migrating to the newer framework for existing customers involves some consulting and implementation work to ensure a smooth transition for your automations, reporting and workflows.
New partnership with Criteria Corp / Revelian
Springboard is now fully integrated with the Criteria Corp (Revelian) assessment platform.
With Revelian, you can get to know your candidates via their comprehensive portfolio of assessments. Combine assessments to reveal insights across the many dimensions of an individual.
Like many of Springboard’s deep integrations, Revelian assessments can be generated automatically via the Rules Engine, and results are rendered directly into the candidate grid to support stack ranking, filtering and decision making.
Contact your account manager to learn more about incorporating your Criteria Corp account into your Springboard workflow.
Improvements to SMS and Invite to Apply
A number of improvements have been introduced to the Invite to Apply and Send Message actions.
SMS are sent immediately
Emails sent manually from Springboard are usually delayed by 5-10 mins to provide an option for recruiters to retrieve emails sent in error.
Prior to this release, SMS messages were also delayed by up to 10 mins.
With this release, SMS are sent immediately, reducing the delay experienced by candidates.
Send SMS even if the email cousin has no email subject
A bug in the system meant that an SMS could not be sent if the corresponding email did not have an email subject entered, even if the email was not selected to be sent.
Insert Job Ad Link into SMS messages
It is now possible to easily add a link to a job advertisement into an SMS message.
Send SMS is now supported via the Invite to Apply action
Invitations to apply to a role can now be sent via SMS as well as email.
Sending SMS is now better supported via the rules engine
Some minor issues with setting up and sending SMS via the rules engine have been resolved.
Improvements to Onboarding
A number of improvements have been made to configuring and managing the onboarding portal.
Configurable onboarding tab header content
The Onboarding Tag viewed by Springboard users provides a summary of tasks completed and still outstanding for the candidate. The messaging on the top of this screen was a direct copy of the messages provided to candidates.
Springboard now makes it possible for customised content more relevant to the Springboard user (recruiter) to be showing on the Onboarding tab.
To setup this content, go to Administration -> Admin Console -> Candidate Portal Configuration and set content in “Backend Onboarding Tab Header”
Configurable “Start Next Task” message
The onboarding portal includes a panel at the top making it easy for candidates to start their next task.
This instruction is not configurable.
Go to Administration -> Admin Console -> Candidate Portal Configuration and set the labels for both the instruction and the button label:
Resolve issue where some form names were not displayed to recruiters
Some clients would not see the names of online forms completed by candidates when viewing the onboarding portal tab from Springboard. This has been resolved.
Remove document extensions such as .pdf from documents to be reviewed
Document extensions have been removed from documents that a candidate needs to review to clean up the user experience.
Resolve issue where some documents could not be viewed by candidates
An issue was identified where a document published to the onboarding portal for acceptance was later deleted by the Springboard user. The activity to accept the document was still visible to the candidate, however the associated document had been removed.
This issue has been corrected. When a document is deleted by the Springboard user, any associated onboarding activity is also removed.
Saving onboarding portal configuration does not work for some clients
Some clients were experiencing difficult saving changes to their onboarding portal. This was a result of Springboard firewall security blocking submission based on potentially untrusted content being submitted. Given that this content is onboarding content submitted by trusted users, this content should be allowed.
This issue has been resolved, allowing clients to save changes to their onboarding portal.
New Look and Feel for Springboard – Now available to all customers
For the past 6 months, the Springboard team has been working on an entirely new look and feel for the core Springboard platform.
We were excited to make the new version available to users last release. With this release we continue to refine the new look, incorporating feedback from customers starting to adopt the new platform.
We continue to encourage users to try out the new look and feel. It’s easy to switch between the new and familiar look.
Customers will not be switched to the new version without consent.
Try out the new version for yourself
Your team can try out the new version by selecting “Try out the new look and feel” from the profile menu. Users can use either the current look & feel or the new look & feel interchangeably – there is no harm in your team using a mix of versions.
If needed, users can switch themselves back to the familiar look & feel anytime.
